Description
‘Bones of the Land’ explores the intersection between archaeology and geology in the Scottish landscape. Peeling back the layers of the land we find beneath evidence of the past – from neolithic stone circles to the geological ‘deep time’ of Scotland’s most ancient rock formations. Drawing on my former career as an archaeologist, and my personal experience of rock-climbing and hill-walking, I use mixed media, collage and drawing to juxtapose these different moments in time and thus delve beneath the surface of Scotland’s dynamic landscape.
