Established in 1911 by Jack Waters, J A Waters & Sons has been serving Selkirk for over 100 years with top quality products produced from beef, lamb and pork sourced from the local farms around Selkirk. All their meat is hung for at least four weeks to mature.
A past winner of the Scottish Haggis Champion, Waters is the go-to butcher if you’d like to sample just how a haggis should taste! Known for supplying many of the local Burn Nights suppers, it may come as a surprise to learn that they also were called upon to supply all the Army and RAF bases in England and Scotland after their win!
Linked closely with rugby: from Jack Waters playing for Scotland and the British Lions to the present owner Darren Hoggan as captain to Selkirk Rugby Club, you could just consider trying one of the “Juicy Jones” sausages named after Lee Jones who started his illustrious career as a message boy for the shop!
