On 25th July, the inaugural Souter Cup will be held at Selkirk Golf Club. The competition has been created by three local lads and all organisation, social media and running of the event is being done entirely by themselves and in their own time. With enough support and success, they’re hoping to turn it into an annual event.
The competition is an invitational tournament in Ryder Cup format, with 36 players divided into two teams of 18 – Team True Blue and Team Scarlet. Split into pairs, they’ll all be teeing off in groups of four throughout the day, with a trophy and a well-stocked bar tab awaiting the winning team and a prize of £100 each for the winning pair (and £50 each for the pair in second place).
Following the tournament, there will be an after-party/disco held in the golf club’s bar, featuring prizes, music from local DJ Jack Oliver and more.
