True Blue Win Inaugural Souter Cup

Team True Blue were crowned the first-ever winners of The Souter Cup after defeating Team Scarlet in the inaugural staging of the new golf competition.

Captained by Harry Borthwick, Team True Blue got the better of Mark Easson’s Team Scarlet in an event that attracted golfers of all abilities and marked the successful launch of what organisers hope will become an annual fixture.

The competition was organised by Josh MacKay, Lewis Sanders and Ryan Nixon, who turned an idea conceived less than six months ago into a well-supported day of golf and entertainment.

Players enjoyed an afternoon of competitive golf, with plenty of memorable shots, a few wayward ones, and good-natured rivalry throughout the field.

The event concluded with evening entertainment from Jack Oliver, providing a fitting end to a day which was widely praised by those taking part.

Organisers have thanked the golf club staff, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who helped make the inaugural event possible, while also paying tribute to the players for supporting the new competition.

A gallery of photographs by Kelly Riddell Photography, along with further highlights from the day, will be released in the coming days on social media.

Following the success of its first outing, organisers are already looking ahead to next year’s event, with hopes that The Souter Cup will continue to grow in the years to come.
